FiA Bloomington Girls/Children at Workouts Policy:
Introduction: We acknowledge FiA is a time for women to step away from their daily life tasks and engage in fitness with a great community. We understand that children at workouts change the dynamics of the group and can hinder PAX from opening up and unloading. We also acknowledge that FiA is designed for all women, including moms and children. We see that both adults and children can experience many benefits from working out side by side. In consideration of creating an optimal environment for our PAX, we have established specific policies for clarity and a harmonious workout atmosphere.
Definitions:
2.0 will be defined as any female ages 12-17 years-old.
2.0 friendly refers to a workout in which the Q attempts to censor her music. We acknowledge that our Qs are not professionals and playlists can be difficult to create. The Q is not expected to modify their workout to accommodate for 2.0s. Per FiA Nation policy, all PAX will modify their own workout when necessary.
0.5 will be defined as any female ages 6-11 years-old.
0.5 friendly refers to a workout in which then Q attempts to censor her music as well as creates a workout that does not involve extensive travel/moseying.
Policies:
Inclusion of 2.0s
2.0s are allowed to attend workouts with their moms/adult female guardian when the pre-blast indicates that the workout is “2.0 friendly.”
If a workout is not identified as 2.0 friendly, PAX may reach out to the Q to ask if the workout could be changed to 2.0 friendly. If so, the pre-blast will be updated accordingly. PAX should not plan to bring their 2.0s to workouts unless they are identified appropriately in the pre-blast. This allows everyone to be aware in advance if children might attend the workout.
If a mom/adult female guardian wants to bring her 2.0 regularly on a certain day to a specific AO, that day could be designated as 2.0 friendly while they are attending and identified appropriately in the pre-blasts.
Attendance of 0.5
FiA Nation’s recommended age/grade for a girl to attend workouts is 6th grade/12 yo and beyond.
In efforts to meet the needs of our PAX we would like to open this up to a younger age at the discretion of their parent. We would rather PAX bring a 0.5 than miss a workout, if the 0.5 is not a distraction to the group.
If any child becomes a distraction for the group, it is the expectation that the parent would address the situation and remove the child if necessary. It is at the discretion of the Q to ask the parent to sit out the remainder of the workout.
If a workout is not identified as 0.5 friendly, PAX may reach out to the Q to ask if the workout could be changed to 0.5 friendly. If so, the pre-blast will be updated accordingly. PAX should not plan to bring their 0.5s to workouts unless they are identified appropriately in the pre-blast. This allows everyone to be aware in advance if children might attend the workout.
Q’s are discouraged from bringing their own 0.5 in order to maintain a focused and safe workout atmosphere.
Under the age of 6 years old should not attend a FiA workout
As a region of FiA Nation we hope to serve our community in the most meaningful way possible. Please see your Regional Leader or a member of the Leadership team with questions or concerns.
